Christian character

How do you act when you are not in a church environment or around Christians? Do you act like a follower of Jesus, or do you act like whoever you are around? Do you let the setting control your attitude, & character, or do you let your character influence your environment?

Your character starts the road of your reputation. Your character is not built overnight, it is built through trials, & by how you respond to tough situations when they don’t go your way.

God has called us to be a light to the world.

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds & glorify your Father in Heaven.

As we are called to be this light, we can’t do this by being a “part time” Christian & just glorifying Him whenever we want to. We have to be consistent with our character.

I think a lot of us are hiding behind masks of this world. We are scared of how others will view us, & we are scared of rejection. Rejection is a thief. It steals our joy, & it steals our self-worth. You have to get past the fear of rejection, & know that there is far better behind taking off that mask. There is an eternity ahead!

A lot of us are desperate to fit in. Maybe you feel like you are alone, maybe you feel like you have no friends.

Let me say this, most of the time when we feel like we have no friends, it’s because we aren’t being one.

You cannot do what is wrong to be accepted, by doing this you might be accepted to the world, but if you think about you will not be accepted by Jesus. You have to have an eternal mindset over an earthly mindset.

There is only one thing from this world that you will take to eternity, & that is your salvation. With that being said, all we have here on this Earth is made for us to glorify the Lord, & to share His word with all those around us, not just simply for our pleasure.

I’m going to wrap this up by saying we have to have good character. We do not need to let others get a bad impression of Christ through our actions. We have to have integrity which means that what you say & what you do match up. This is so hard, but we have to take this into action into the pursuit of having good character.

I am praying for those of us who are wearing these masks that we will take them off & start to see the beauty of Christ, & show that to others as well. Remember, your character has to be consistent!!
