Insecurity

Insecurity. It’s something we all struggle with whether we want to admit it or not. It steals our self worth, & makes us feel like we are losers. It’s one of those things that just doesn’t go away.

If you really think about insecurity it's like you are believing God didn’t quite get it right when He created You. Things of this world such as, the devil, social media, magazines, & even people in some cases love to point out those things we see in ourselves as imperfections and convince us that it is who we are. Before we know it, those things just drown us and we feel like God completely messed up with us. I don’t know about you, but I am tricked into believing what people say about me a lot. There’s something about imperfections and insecurity that I think is cool. I’m not saying in any way I don’t struggle with this, because I do, so much. But, it’s something to think about. God sees all our imperfections, & He knows what we are most insecure about. Actually, He knows our imperfections better than we know them. He knows everything about each one of us, He knows what’s we think is wrong with us, & why we think it is wrong, but, it's so amazing when God talks about who I am because he says things like -

I am fearfully & wonderfully made in His image, & that I am sealed with His promise, & I am redeemed by His grace!

Is this not incredible? He knows my flaws and still calls me fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. I think that is so cool!!

In Matthew 4, the devil had no chance against Jesus when he tempted Him with lies in the desert, because at the end of Matthew 3, when Jesus was baptized, He heard these simple words of God -

This is my Son, who I love; with him I am well pleased”

Jesus understood that before His ministry began, His Father loved Him and was pleased with Him. So, when it came to defeating the devil, Jesus did not get his strength from himself, or from people around Him, He got His strength from the words of the Father! I think God speaks the same thing to us too, we just have to hear it, and believe them.

If we push aside the lies of the world, and focus on the words, “God says I am,” we don’t have to live up to anyone else’s expectation. Instead, we can begin to live for the Lord, and believe that we are created in His image and that we should not be ashamed of who we are. Another thing that I really think helps with insecurity is knowing how much God loves us, and that we should not classify our self worth into what the world thinks about us, but for how God sees us. I pray that you will experience God’s love for you daily, & that you will start putting your self worth into the Creator, & not into what people on this Earth think about you. It’s not going to be easy, and you know that, but I promise God is with you, and you can do all things through Him, never forget that.. You are so loved, and please pray that God will help you to put your self worth not into people, friends, idols, or anything else, but in Him.
