Have you ever signed up for something, and before you submit it you have to check a box that says agree to terms and conditions? You know what I’m talking about, the 20 page fine print that I don’t think anyone in this world reads!
Do you ever feel like you have one of these with God? Like rules, and boundaries you have to follow, and if you mess up, then all of a sudden you are in a huge mess? Maybe this isn’t you, but for many of us, I think we can all agree that we are scared of messing up, scared of reading those terms & conditions of what God actually wants from us.
I think we tend to have these conditions with God in our heads. We have a standard for ourselves that if we break, suddenly we feel destroyed. I want us to think of this in terms of the Bible. Do you use the Bible as a term and condition? Do you agree to everything it says, but never read it, & just click that check box just because you know you can get by? Or do you apply it to what you’re doing & actually consider what it says?
I challenge you to not just agree with the Bible when you probably don’t have a good idea of what you’re agreeing with. I challenge you to examine the word, & examine your heart & just fall in love with the word and with God!! Don’t check the terms & conditions box, this time, read some of the Bible & apply it to your life.
In 2 Corinthians, it says, “The heart regulates the hands.”
Please just let that sink in.
Whatever your hands are full of is what is going to pour out of your heart. Think about what your hands are full of? The world might judge you for what you are holding in your hands, but the Lord is looking at what is pouring out of your Heart. So examine this, who are you trying to please?
You see, Jesus has never put terms & conditions on us, he loves us no matter what, so why do we put them on him? He tells us that we are never too broken that he cannot heal us. So why do we have this contract that if we mess up suddenly we have this hole that never goes away?? Why are we scared? Our God is so forgiving, but he's also looking for us to admit to him what we have done. He wants us to come to Him. So when you mess up, don't get down. Take it to the Lord, he will help you through it in his time, & once you're through it, use it as a learning tool, but don't go back. Learn from it & leave it in the past!
Today I challenge you to rip up that contract, read the word & never give up on the hope of the Lord because He never gives up on you. I challenge you to ask the Lord to cleanse your heart, and help you to fill your hands with eternal things and not the things of this world.
Friends, He wants you! More than anyone else! The things of this world will not satisfy you, but let me tell you the word of the Lord will be an eternal satisfaction that I hope you crave!! Whatever you’re going through, take it to Jesus! You are not too broken, you will never be too broken for the mercy of the Lord.
